As per the manufacturing industry's best practice, a typical production line in Sanmina’s MES has one shop floor data locator per process as well as a logical work station configured for Advanced Traceability. This enables board scanning after the screen printer but before the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machine. When a newer Technology Fuji Pick and Place Machine is used along with the vendor software (Fujitrax) in a Production line, the component placement is provided by. the Vendore software. The Fuji line profiler does not currently read each board’s serials in the PCB that has multiple panels. The reader can only read a single serial (first one detected) and for all others they are auto generated by Fujitrax (vendor software). The generated serials do not match consistently with the actual board serials. In order to have each board’s serials tracked by Fujitrax, Fuji must request to link the panel, and each board within the panel, in order to avoid duplicated board scanning and linking efforts. There is a new application (UI) which associates the panel with each child board, and then submits each board’s serials to SFDC and PTS simultaneously.
